The STAR_Net Project's COMMUNITY OF PRACTICE

The STAR_Net project is developing two hands-on exhibits - Discover Earth and Discover Tech - that will travel to public libraries across the country. In addition, the project is hosting a Community of Practice (CoP) Web site for professionals who want to provide or support STEM learning experiences in libraries. STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. This CoP is open to librarians, scientists, engineers, educators, museum staff, and others who want to: Provide and support STEM learning in libraries Reach new audiences with STEM content Joining the CoP. The CoP Web site (http://cop.discoverexhibits.org) will go live on June 24, 2011. To join the site, please send your name and e-mail address to Anne Holland at aholland@spacescience.org. She will send you a user name and password within two business days. The National Center for Interactive Learning at the Space Science Institute is leading the STAR_Net project and development of the Discover Earth and Discover Tech exhibitions. Partners include the American Library Association, the Lunar and Planetary Institute, and the National Girls Collaborative Project.
